Close-closer (2013) fixed media

This title is namely the theme of a call for work through which I had decided to investigate the morphological relations between these two words. "Brainly" speaking, a dynamic "movement of thought" happens thanks to the alteration of the original material, i.e a basic operation of morphological addition (+ r). Therefore, I intended to explore the polemic issue of meaning in music through a rather formalistic point of view : how far following the development and transformation of a single musical entity can generate a global feeling of consistency ? This piece answers in its way by making the most of morphological derivation.  The presence of the tremoli-like texture gradually increases, appearing transgressively from another piece, Twice And End (2012), for flute, guitar & live-computer.

The piece was composed for the Musica Viva association in collaboration with the triennial of architecture of Lisbon, July 2013.
